TCA

The City Academy

15 January 2026

Annual Day at The City Academy, Kalaburagi — what to expect, how students prepare, and why this event is the highlight of the school calendar for families across Gulbarga.

Annual Day at The City Academy — Kalaburagi's Most Anticipated School Event

Every year, between January and March, The City Academy, Kalaburagi hosts its Annual Day — the school's biggest cultural celebration of the year. For many families, it is the event they look forward to most.

What Annual Day Looks Like

The Programme Students from every section — LKG through PU II — participate. The stage programme typically runs for 3–4 hours and includes:
  • Classical and folk dance performances (Bharatnatyam, folk, group dances)
  • Drama and skit performances by senior students
  • Patriotic songs and group singing
  • Individual performances by talented students
  • Student council speeches
  • Prize distribution for academic, sports, and cultural achievement
The Audience Parents, grandparents, family members, and guests from the local community. The school ground is transformed for the evening — seating, lighting, and stage setup that make the event feel special. The Prize Distribution Prizes recognise:
  • Academic toppers in every class (Std I through PU II)
  • Sports day winners and district/state-level achievers
  • Cultural performance awards
  • Attendance and discipline awards

How Students Prepare

Preparations for Annual Day begin 4–6 weeks in advance. Students rehearse after school hours. This is their time — and they take it seriously.

Why Annual Day Matters Beyond Entertainment

Annual Day is not just a show. It is the moment when a shy student discovers they can perform on stage. It is when a parent who has never seen their child in front of 500 people watches them deliver a speech with confidence. It is when the school becomes a community, not just a building.

These are the memories that stay — long after SSLC percentages are forgotten.

Parents are invited to every Annual Day. Contact us for the date of this year's event.
