The City Academy, Kalaburagi — school campus
Established 2000 · Kalaburagi

Our Story Since 2000Twenty-five years of trust.

Twenty-five years ago, a small school opened its doors in Khaja Colony. Today it serves families across Kalaburagi — from a child's first day at Montessori to their KCET result morning.

Our Founding

How it began

The City School was founded in 2000 in Khaja Colony, Kalaburagi — with a simple conviction that quality education should be within reach for every family in the community, regardless of background or means.

In 2006, The City Academy was established in Zam Zam Colony, off Hagarga Cross on Ring Road, expanding the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. By 2010, our first SSLC batch appeared for the Board Examinations. In 2011, City Composite PU College followed, bringing well-equipped Biology, Physics and Chemistry laboratories to Kalaburagi students.

In 2022, we became home to Karnataka’s first Atal Tinkering Lab — a recognition of our commitment to innovation and scientific exploration. Today, students study here across three verticals — The City School (Montessori to Std V), The City Academy (Std VI to X), and City Composite PU College (Science, PU I & II). Karnataka State Board. English medium. A faculty that stays, year after year.

That continuity — across 25 years, across three generations of some families — is the measure we care about most.

A Message from Our Principal
Mrs. Tanveer Jamal

Education is not merely about passing exams — it is about developing the whole child. At The City Academy, we focus on academic rigour, character development, and practical skills that prepare students for the real world. Our teachers are our greatest asset. I invite parents to visit our campus, meet our faculty, and see firsthand why The City Academy has been the school of choice for families in Kalaburagi for 25 years.

Our three programmes

Our Character

What we choose not to do.

An institution’s character is defined as much by what it refuses as by what it offers.

We don't ask for capitation fees.

Our admissions are merit-based and fully transparent. No unofficial payments, no back channels.

We don't sell coaching packages.

NEET and KCET preparation is part of our regular PU curriculum — not an add-on service parents pay extra for.

We don't run a high-pressure rank race.

Every child's progress is measured against their own potential, not just rank lists. Consistent growth over competitive anxiety.
